
The Amateur Astronomers of Jackson are dedicated to:
*Promote public interest in astronomy
*Assist members astronomy related interest
*Cooperate with similiar societies throughout the world
*Cooperate with individuals and organizations engaged
in
astronomical research
Meetings are held from 7pm to 9pm
every second Tuesday of the month at the
Peter F. Hurst Planetarium, located in
Ella Sharp Park.

Members Receive:
*the "Reflector", quarterly from the Astronomical League
*a discount subscription rate for Sky & Telescope
magazine
*a discount subscription rate for Astronomy magazine
Observing sessions for the public and for members
are held at least once a month, weather permitting.
There are three types of membership:
*Regular
*Student
*Honorary
Come out to a meeting and introduce yourself, we are
a very informal group, and a curiosity about our
universe
is all that is required to become a member. No
previous
knowledge of astronomy is needed!
